GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - (February 22, 2021) – The application deadline is quickly approaching for Grand Valley Power’s Hometown Scholarship Program. Each year, GVP awards over $20,000 in scholarship funds to local students aspiring to continue their education.

Scholarship awards range from $1,500 to $2,000. One is renewable for up to four years and worth $8,000, if awarded. Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2021 with exception to the Western Colorado Community College Electric Lineworker Scholarship, which is due June 1, 2021.

Applications can be submitted by mail, in-person or online at gvp.org/scholarship-program. Scholarship applications, details and requirements can be found at gvp.org/scholarship-program or at Grand Valley Power’s main office.

Grand Valley Power has been awarding scholarships since 1996 and has given back over $210,000 to local youth for education and training. “Education, training and information is just one of seven cooperative principles we are committed to in supporting our youth. These scholarships will help produce the leaders our communities need to thrive in the future,” stated Grand Valley Power’s Communication Manager, Christmas Wharton.

For questions about the scholarship program or requirements, please email scholarships@gvp.org or call us at 970-242-0040.
